- My father grew tired of being a lumberjack in the Candian backwoods, so he packed up my mother and oldest brother (one year old at the time) and moved to the United States. He was in search of a better life. Mission accomplished. I grew up in the Roman Catholic religion, which gave me a good foundation. As an adult, I thankfully discovered something greater than religion...a relationship with God.
